Information Verification Policy
Verify before you believe. Check before you share.
VietnamHub Fact Check is VietnamHub’s information verification initiative, designed to help readers assess claims, data, images, videos, and other content that attracts significant public attention.
1. What We Verify
VietnamHub may verify:
- Public claims made by individuals or organizations.
- Information circulating on social media.
- Data and statistics.
- Images and videos.
- Content believed to be generated by artificial intelligence (AI).
- Information that may have a significant impact on public understanding or perception.
2. Sources of Information
VietnamHub prioritizes:
- Documents and data from competent authorities and reputable organizations.
- Original and primary-source materials.
- Statistical data with transparent and clearly documented methodologies.
- Academic research and professional or technical materials.
- Independent and reputable sources.
Every significant conclusion should be supported by evidence that readers can access, review, and independently verify.
3. Methodology
Each fact-check should clearly identify:
Claim → Source of the Claim → Evidence → Verification → Context → Conclusion
VietnamHub does not consider the number of people sharing a claim, the popularity of the person who posted it, or public sentiment to be evidence of its accuracy.
4. Rating System
VietnamHub uses five assessment levels:
TRUE — Available evidence confirms the claim.
PARTLY TRUE — The claim contains accurate elements but is incomplete or partially inaccurate.
FALSE — Reliable evidence indicates that the claim is inaccurate.
MISLEADING — The content may contain factual information, but its presentation or lack of context may lead readers to a misleading understanding.
INSUFFICIENT EVIDENCE — There is not enough reliable evidence to reach a definitive conclusion.
5. Corrections
If VietnamHub identifies an error in a fact-check conclusion or in the information presented in a Fact Check article, the article may be updated.
Significant changes must be documented transparently.
VietnamHub encourages readers to submit new evidence or identify potential errors through the contact page.
6. Editorial Independence
Fact-checking conclusions must be based on evidence and a transparent verification methodology, not on commercial interests, advertising considerations, or pressure from any party.
7. Transparency
Each Fact Check should inform readers of:
- What is being verified.
- The source of the claim.
- The sources of evidence.
- The verification and comparison methodology.
- The conclusion.
- The date of verification.
- The date of any subsequent update or correction.
8. Responsibility to Readers
The purpose of VietnamHub Fact Check is not to replace readers’ own judgment, but to provide evidence and context that enable readers to form their own informed conclusions.
